Past nine mountains and eight valleys, in a faraway land where lakes brighten up like mirrors each day beneath the sun, a girl embarked on a long journey with a handful of freshwater pearls, semi-precious stones, and some sparkling silver from rock veins. At that moment, the southeastern wind began to blow. It blew in a cloud of feathers and a girl from a distant country floated down on earth like gossamer. She was clutching something small and glittery in her hand. They traveled, each going their own way, until they arrived in a big city. One day, the wind turned. The wind was so strong that it blew away men’s mustaches, women’s hats, and children’s balloons, ice creams, scooters, and collars of their festive clothes. Traffic signs, marzipan, flower pots with lilies, mandarin trees, pearls, feathers, bike racks, and even bikes were floating above their heads like zeppelins. When the wind calmed down and everything descended to the ground, both girls, with tousled hair, were picking up what the wind blew away from their hands. The tiniest pearl, which only a moment ago had risen to the stars, was now rolling on the tiles. It bounced as if it wanted to drum to the rhythm of the street organ until the hands of the two girls reached out for it…
